LOVE this place!! Whenever I am downtown and have a few free minutes I hop over to Rabbit Hole Books. Oh the treasures, the treasures I have found here! In addition to treasures, the ambiance, the friendly staff, the wonderful knick knacks—it is the perfect place to find a souvenir for a visit to Dayton. It is also a great place to find a delightful unique gift for students, bibliophiles , or special friends.nnOh the treasures, the many treasures I have found here!!

So much more than a bookstore, Rabbit Hole Books is a welcoming community space. Yes, the $1 books are a definite selling feature – as I rarely leave without an armful of must-reads – but the helpful staff and the comfy purple chairs definitely add to the cozy, inviting vibe.

So, if you are looking for a particular book, this ain't your place unless you are feeling very lucky. Do you feel lucky?nEvery book is a buck- not a deer with antlers buck, one dollar. Four quarters. And you'll get something that will be more fun than four quarters of NFL football- in that a book has non-stop entertainment and no commercial breaks.nThey are a non-profit, and they give a ton back to the community, so even if you buy a book that sucks, you are still doing something good.nThey also have a lot of cards and small gifts to go with the dollar book you bought- so that if you give it as a gift- they might not catch on that you only spent a buck.nIt's a small book store with a big heart- which is more than I can say for some of these reviewers that give the place a single star out of some sort of twisted teen angst.nDefinitely a place you can spend some time and find all kinds of things to read that you didn't know you wanted to read in the first place. Enjoy!

Added Rabbit Hole Books to Google Maps. 🙂 So glad I got to visit The Dayton Book Fairs shop their second day of being open! All the books in the store are one dollar each and the staff is very friendly. The location is accessible and the store is tidy. Great soundtrack too. The store is growing as well, soon there will be an ice cream (and more) store right near it! Very excited to keep coming back and happy to say I found some great affordable books. Thank you!

I visited Rabbit Hole Books in Dayton May 7th yesterday. **(I was there a few days ago but was pressed for time and the woman was severely helpful and very friendly. I told her i would be back.So yesterday i was there but it was a different lady.) hoping to browse for additions to my personal collection, especially works by Sarah Addison Allen and classic authors I enjoy collecting.n. While casually talking with my husband about how collectible some books can become online one in particular being worth $2500., while putting the book back on the shelf ,a staff member overheard part of the conversation and abruptly confronted me in front of other customers about reselling books. Asking me if I sell online which I didnt understand her question it didnt dawn on me until she berated me in front of people. I told her I sell on etsy clothes jewelry. She was very rude made me cry and want to hide in a corner not to be scene by anyone.nnI understand and respect supporting local community bookstores, but the interaction felt unnecessarily hostile and embarrassing. I had not even purchased the book being discussed, and I was surprised by the assumptions made about my intentions. The situation escalated to the point where I was told I was not welcome back, which honestly felt hurtful and disproportionate. She was hostile at check out and charged more for the books but I wasn't interested in arguing.nnThe store itself has a wonderful selection of vintage and classic books, and I genuinely enjoyed browsing there. I just wish the interaction had been handled with more kindness and professionalism.nn**By the way, the way she told me could be argued about selling books. Good for the goose good for the gander. What would be the difference with you selling it in your community and me selling it in my community? However I do have books on my etsy account but their not from your bookstore and its not my focal point so I only have maybe 7 books for sale.
