Kubik Fine Books

The best bookstore I've ever been to – not for the prices (which were fair but still pretty high) but for the sélection/quality of the books. I was amazed at how many vintage, rare, and insightful books there were, especially on the Catholic faith. The owner was quite friendly as well. Highly recommend if you're passing through Dayton!

I recently visited Kubik Fine Books while waiting for an Uber and was pleasantly surprised by what I discovered! Nestled at 24 Park Ave in Oakwood, OH, this charming bookstore has a lot to offer. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted by a cat that seemed to be the unofficial mascot of the store. While I’m not a fan of cats, it added a quirky charm to the atmosphere.nnThe selection of books is impressive, covering an extensive range of genres, from Christianity, tarot, art, photography, fiction, nonfiction, and even more niche topics like UFOs, conspiracy theories, and military history. I appreciated the diversity, as it makes Kubik a great place for anyone, whether you're searching for a specific title or just browsing for something new to read.nnThe staff was welcoming and helpful. A gentleman at the front desk explained the pricing system clearly, and I found it easy to locate prices inside the books. There’s also a cozy seating area where you can sit down with a book and enjoy some quiet reading time. In addition to books, they offer a selection of magazines and DVDs, making it a well-rounded spot for media lovers.nnAlthough the store was generally clean, I did notice a bit of clutter in the back room, but that didn’t detract from my overall experience. It felt like a place where you could lose track of time exploring the shelves. I also learned that customers can bring in books to sell, which is a fantastic way to keep the inventory fresh.nnOverall, I highly recommend Kubik Fine Books to anyone in the area. Whether you’re a dedicated bibliophile or just looking to pass the time, this bookstore is a gem worth visiting. You might just find your next favorite read or a unique addition to your collection!

My review is for an online order. I had been looking for a particular version of Charles Williams The Place of the Lion to complete my set. There are so many versions that it was difficult to find the one that I wanted and even when I thought I had, I ended up with the wrong copy from another online seller. I randomly came across Kubik Fine Books on another website online. I reached out to confirm the cover shown was correct. They responded so quickly and confirmed that all photos are of their actual books! I was so excited and even happier when I saw that shipping was free. The book shipped almost immediately and I had it within a few days. It was well packaged with a cardboard backing to make sure USPS didn’t bend it. So happy that Kubik was able to help complete my collection!

Owen knows his wares exceptionally well, and gave me a fair price for the books I took to him for sale. He had reasonable prices on a number of books I had been looking for for some time. A great experience.

My two books came exactly in the described condition. They had been very well packaged. They also arrived quickly which was fantastic. Thank you!
