I had a great experience here shopping for a birthday gift for my mom. Two of the managers here helped me out, I told them what I was looking for and they came with many recommendations. There was also a nice children’s area to keep my little ones occupied while I looked around. The two managers were very knowledgeable about my request which helped me out a ton. Thank you ladies I had a wonderful experience. I went back one time afterwards because I wanted to support bookstores over Amazon, but they were sold out of what I was looking for.
The level of incompetence in Rochester never fails to baffle me. I had a short window of time to pick up two books today, so I pre-paid online; theoretically, I should have been able to quickly run into the store, grab the books, and leave. I was emailed that my order was ready for pick up.nnWhen I got there, they had only included one of my books. I waited while they scrambled to find the second, only to be told it was “damaged.” They tried to sell me a book with a torn cover for full price. I asked why I should pay full price for a damaged item, and they offered a whopping 10% discount – with the catch that they’d have to cancel my order and ring me up again. All in all, a very simple order that should have taken two minutes ended up being a huge ordeal. Classic Rochester, where prices are artificially high and standards are low.
I had no idea at bookstores were still around. This one is wow!!! Beautiful new facts on display here. I think you will love the effort that was made to make these books accessible. Bestsellers, hardcowers snack shop clean bathrooms and friendly customer service. Come take a look!
A nice store with a lot of selection. There are always some sale shelves and tables with a wide variety of books and they are organized nicely to make it easier to search for the subject you are interested in. There seems to be more and more toys, games and puzzle than there used to be. They have taken out almost all the seating so it is not nearly as inviting as it used to be. I used to like to buy something at the coffee shop and sit down and relax with the beverage and a book, but now that is not available. The prices are high but if you buy online they are cheaper.
There are not many bookstores in Rochester. However, Barnes & Noble at the Apache mall has nearly everything that I need. I always go in for one thing, but find more of what I like beyond that if I can’t find what I’m looking for the staff, there is happy and willing to help.
