Peacock Books & Wildlife Art Lisa Loucks-Christenson

When in the Galleria or Peace Plaza they were ok. When they moved to the Hillcrest shopping Center they are never open when I try to go even if they say they're open. I've got a gift card to use; they better not close before I can use it!

Peacock Books Bistro is a delightful local gem! Lisa, the sweetest and most generous host, makes you feel right at home with her warmth and talent. Her photography adds a personal charm to the cozy space. The hot cocoa I tried was absolutely delicious—rich, creamy, and made with care. Stop by for a great book, a tasty treat, and a truly welcoming experience!

I highly recommend this quaint and lovely little shop for the great selection of well-priced books and beautiful gift items available (art, photographs, jewelry, etc.) as well the warm and inviting atmosphere which the owners provide in earnest care for their customers. I've been able to find some rarer & obscure books here, much to my surprise and delight. Lisa is an absolute gem and wonderful lady – happy to converse with and accommodate customers, talented artist & wildlife photographer, intelligent and bright. This is a truly pleasant and fine establishment. Give it a visit.

We were in our way to Chester’s but stopped here because of the wonderful smell of home fried chicken. The meal was absolutely delicious- all home made! The meatloaf was just like I would make at home. We definitely will be back.

I just ADORE this book store. They are bright, caring, generous souls. We are in town due to a transplant at Mayo and we've stopped by 3 times. Lisa remembers my name, my sister's name, my sister's story, and asks how she's doing and how she's feeling.nnNow onto the books. This is one of those bookstores that has a book on WHATEVER topic you can think of. Not all of it is on site due to the insane amount of books in their collection, but they know what they have, and remember what you're looking for.nnMy first visit, I watched as Lisa remembered multiple customers, what they were looking for, and HAD THEM WAITING FOR THEM. YESTERDAY I was talking about a collection of books that I haven't seen since I was very little. Went in today and they had 9 out of the 20 books from this collection waiting for me on the desk.nnThese folks would be PERFECT for a bookstore/café with areas to sit and read.
