Beausoleil Books & Whisper Room

Beausoleil Books is an absolute gem in downtown Lafayette. The moment you walk in, you’re greeted by a warm, inviting atmosphere that makes you want to stay and browse for hours. Their book selection is thoughtfully curated, with something for every type of reader, and I especially love their focus on Louisiana authors and unique titles you won’t always find in larger bookstores. The staff is incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and always happy to offer recommendations.nnWhat really sets this place apart is the sense of community it creates. It’s more than just a bookstore—it’s a welcoming space where people can gather, discover new books, and support local culture. Whether you’re a lifelong book lover or just looking for your next great read, I highly recommend visiting Beausoleil Books. Lafayette is lucky to have such a wonderful independent bookstore. Five stars! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Has great selection and great staff. When I visited for first time I saw they were hosting like an open mic event for reading. Will return on future strolls downtown.

This is the first bookstore I visited in Lafayette. This is such a cozy bookstore with an amazing ambiance.Last time I was in there, they offered 10% student discount.

Excited to have Cavalier House Books in Lafayette! John and Michelle are so nice! Can't wait to see how they grow the book community!

Good bookstore with great vibes. So many of the staff recommendations were books I've read and loved, so I definitely trust their staff picks. I wish the poetry section were bigger, but they had a few good picks.
