Yuuna and the Haunted Hot Springs Vol. 1

Yuuna and the Haunted Hot Springs Vol. 1 by Tadahiro Miura, published by National Geographic Books on May 8, 2018, is a graphic novel that combines elements of the supernatural and humor. This edition, written in English and spanning 190 pages, follows high schooler Kogarashi, who, after experiencing homelessness, discovers Yuragi-sou, a boarding house with a unique history as a former hot springs inn. The house is inhabited by alluring female tenants, and Kogarashi sees an opportunity to live there rent-free if he can banish the ghost haunting the premises.

As Kogarashi confronts the ghost, he meets Yuuna, a beautiful teenage girl whose presence complicates his initial plans. The narrative explores themes of compassion and the supernatural, as Kogarashi grapples with his decision to help Yuuna rather than exorcise her. Readers will encounter a blend of humor and supernatural elements, along with insights into the lives of the other boarders, each holding their own secrets. This volume sets the stage for a unique exploration of friendship and the challenges of coexisting with spirits.
