This tale of love, passion, rejection, obsession and vengeance is narrated by the Wuthering Heights housekeeper, Nelly Dean to Lockwood.
The story revolves around Catherine’s and Heathcliff ́s slanderous love. Though deeply in love they are forced to marry other spouses and which subjects their children to dejection and disdain.
Nelly reminisces of her days as a servant to Mr. Earnshaw the then owner of Wuthering Height manor. Who happens to bring in a dark-skinned orphan boy to his home to raise with his kids as his own. It is at this point when a very strong bond is formed between Catherine his daughter and Heathcliff the orphan boy. In addition, Mr. Earnshaw develops a great liking for Heathcliff over his own son, Hindley.
Unfortunately the love shown to Heathcliff by his adopted father leads to tremendous hate from Hindley. Upon his father ́s death, Hindley decides to revenge on Heathcliff by making him a servant. Hindley ́s dislike escalated upon the loss of his wife Frances after the birth of his son, Hareton.
Heathcliff flees from Wuthering Heights only to return 3 years later as a dubious wealthy man whose main goal is vengeance.
