In 2006 Lesley McGrath-Woodley was invited to speak at a Unión Bíblica (Scripture Union) conference in Lima, Peru. She returned to Australia in humble astonishment at what she discovered.In the 1970s she was the inaugural schools and camps worker for Unión Bíblica in Peru, and about two hundred children were involved in school and camp activities there when she returned to Australia in 1981 with a sense of abject failure.On her 2006 visit she discovered that the young people she had mentored had continued the work in accordance with her training, and that under God it had exploded. Thirty-two thousand students were now involved with Unión Bíblica every week, spread out across twenty of Peru’s twenty-four provinces and into neighbouring countries.This book of her recollections and reflections reassures us that when we are committed to serving God wholeheartedly, he works in extraordinary ways, in spite of our weaknesses and failings.
