Horace Gumshoe: Episode One: The Boxes

San Francisco has been forever changed by the emergence of the hovercraft industry. The peninsula where the city exists has been surrounded by water on three sides forever. All traffic heading in or out was controlled by the power and grace of the city’s amazing bridges, but now, the roads created by the bridges are unnecessary. Flying cars can access the city over the water, gliding right up the side of hills, canyons, or mountains to reach the streets of San Francisco. As a result, the police are fighting a huge wave of crime that’s been brought to the city by the new technology – smash-and-grabs, robberies, muggings, and jewelry heists are now a booming business, and the city’s finest struggles to cope with the onslaught. Many of the citizens are frustrated and sick of all the unchecked crime. Wiley Krupp comes from a long line of police officers who fought hard and lost their lives defending the city from such criminal elements. After being shot at and almost killed by jewelry thieves in Embarcadero Park, downtown, he takes a two-week vacation from his job in the Berkeley Police Accounting Department, creates a fake detective history and identification papers as Detective Horace Gumshoe, who gets to work, fighting crime!
