Editorial overview Touché

Gulliver’s Travels by Jonathan Swift, published by CreateSpace Independent Publishing Platform in August 2017, is a classic work of fiction that spans 130 pages. This prose satire, originally published in 1726 and amended in 1735, explores themes of human nature and the literary subgenre of “travellers’ tales.” The narrative begins with Lemuel Gulliver outlining his life and history before embarking on a series of extraordinary voyages, starting with his arrival on the island of Lilliput, where he encounters a race of tiny people.

Readers will find that Gulliver’s initial experiences in Lilliput reveal the complexities of his interactions with the inhabitants, who are both hospitable and cautious due to his size. The story delves into the Lilliputians’ preoccupation with trivial matters, providing a satirical commentary on society. As Gulliver navigates his new surroundings, the novel invites reflection on the absurdities of human behavior and the nature of power. This edition presents Swift’s enduring work in a contemporary format, making it accessible to modern readers interested in classic literature, fantasy, and satire.
