This is a three-volume collection of caricatures and cartoons published between 1890-1905 in nearly 300 newspapers and journals of 25 countries, which includes India, Japan and other non-western regions as well as the UK, US and Europe. Including nearly 4200 illustrations, Caricatures and Cartoons, 1890-1905: A History of the World vividly describes the changes of the world around the turn of the century.

Originally selected by the editor of The Review of Reviews, a monthly magazine published since 1889 in the UK and US, which carried the summery of news and reports collected from the periodicals over the world, the cartoons appeared in various sections of the magazine and its appendices. However, even in the back issue collections held at UK or US libraries, those sections were often lost and are rarely available completely. Chronologically arranged, the volumes will be very useful visual tool for students and scholars researching global modern history around the turn of the 19th century, as well as for anybody interested in the history of comics.
