The Next Chapter

I love this place. Very homey, great selection. Besides new books, the area in the back frequently has great live music, a treasure trove of cheap used books, and even bins of “ephemera” you can take home (old but interesting art from magazines and otherwise damaged books).nnI love this place and will be happy to support this independent bookshop for as long as I’m able.

I found this place while visiting Huntington & was happy I went in. It was way bigger than I thought it would be, with so much variety of new and old books. I loved the decor especially in the back, it was so nice! They even have old books in German & other languages. It felt like going back in time to the school library when I was a kid & I cannot recommend it enough. Plus the staff was so friendly too. We will be back!

I have loved this store since it opened! The weekend market days, and book signing events, along with the wide selection of new and used books makes this the best bookstore on Long Island! I recently had my bridal shower in their event room and everything was perfect! The staff is so kind, and the owner Mallory is determined for everyone to enjoy themselves to the fullest. I can’t recommend this store enough

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️nThe children’s story time with Nana Carol is absolutely wonderful! It’s such a warm, welcoming activity for little ones, and I love that it’s free. My kids look forward to it every week — it’s such a special part of our routine. The bookstore itself has a cozy, community feel that makes you want to stay and browse for hours. Highly recommend!

The Next Chapter is a great independent book store. Their paperback books are very affordable, and they offer a wide selection of both fiction and nonfiction/literary analysis books which I love. If I can make a suggestion however, the store should be more accommodating for moms with babies or toddlers especially since there is Story Time every Monday (which is also a great part of The Next Chapter). There are no changing tables in either of the bathrooms, and it is difficult navigating through the store with my son's stroller because of all the displays and tables (a lot of times I can't get through a certain walkway and need to go back and around another way). Overall though, The Next Chapter has done an incredible job carrying on the independent book store spirit of The Book Revue.
