I had the opportunity to meet Bethany, then to visit her shop while in Geneva NY. She commented that “people need a reason to come in to a store today and that it has to be a sensory experience”. Boy did she nail it. The carefully curated items are a delight for the mind and the senses!!!nAnd the sense of humor in the card selection had me laughing out loud.nEveryone needs to visit this amazing gift/book shop.n….Barbara

We visited Lake Seneca in late October. One of our favorite discoveries was The Stomping Grounds Bookstore in Geneva. You won’t find racks of bestsellers there; in fact, most of the books on display were used. Neatly organized nooks and crannies held old postcards, maps, seasonal goodies, gorgeous editions of classics, and banned books (including Forbidden Books Tarot cards). There were used books alphabetized on old wooden shelves–recognizable favorites by authors who have faded in popularity. There were drawers filled with one dollar bargain paperbacks. The owner had meticulously decorated each section, and not a corner or wall in the store was wasted. Lee and I couldn’t help but stop and discuss each display.nWe went back three times. This bookstore is unique and definitely worth visiting.

Was wondering around downtown Geneva and came across this bookstore. The staff were very friendly and the selection of books and accessories were well curated and interesting. They also have a custom framing shop on premises which is OK I guess. Definitely worth a stroll if you are in the area.

A fantastic book and gift shop with super fair framing rates, as well! Stop by for the perfect gift or piece of art for your loved ones ✨nnUpdate: still one of the best spots in the Finger Lakes for gifts!

Amazing experience. There are these classic novels that are just in the most beautiful hardback covers. Loved the local love that was present as well.
