Rochester Text Book Exchange

I found this while I was on a walk in the area and was really surprised! It's a treasure trove of used books (@ $1 each) with an emphasis on textbooks (@ $5 each). I had a lovely time investigating the shelves and the aisles that are filled to bursting. Piles of books everywhere.nnI don't know what it's like if you come to this store with a specific book need, but coming in to browse and explore was really good fun.

Came to sell back my MCC textbooks. I had quotes from online but wanted to try to go to a local business. Hours listed on the website said open until 6. Came at 510pm owner was locking up. He allowed me to come in. I brought 6 textbooks all bought within the last 6 months, paid close to 650 for all. He offered me 35 dollars TOTAL for all of my textbooks. I showed him the quotes I had from online sellers because the site showed they match competitor prices, to which he replied “we used to” he then offered to give me 35 for 1 book. The place is an absolute disaster. No rhyme or reason. No organization whatsoever. First and last visit now the reviews make sense. I left and will never return.

Having read negative reviews, I was surprised by the fairness and efficiency of the staff. They gave me a good deal on buyback, not extraordinary but very satisfactory. I would recommend this to anyone wishing to sell textbooks, though I did not look to purchase anything.nnAs for matching prices, one of my books had a trade-in value of 37.52 on Amazon (in return for an Amazon gift card). The person assisting me gave me 35 cash. Not sure what others experienced, but that's the best deal I could get.

Just went in and had 6 books. Three textbooks in perfect condition, just a few years old. Then a workbook, a writing tips book, and a regular book. The man at the counter offered me $20 for everything. These books cost me $600. I took it because I need them out of my house badly, but this place is really a scam. And the inside is horribly messy and claustrophobic. Piles of books everywhere. Not friendly service. Would recommend selling your books elsewhere.

Pretty nice employees. Understanding that textbooks drop half in price pretty much after they are bought. They gave me a pretty decent amount of money. Yea I probably could have sold them on my own individually and got a lot more for them but that is to much of a pain to try to do. They are a great option to get some money back for some old books that are taking up space in your house.
