Overbooked Bookstore

Love the location, and they had an excellent selection considering it’s not a massive store. The layout made it very easy to find both known and unknown books to add to our shelves.

tl;dr: A cute book boutique with a good mix of titles and subjectsnnWhat is it? Overbooked is a relatively new addition to the area as of June 2026. They sell new books, audiobooks, a few used books, and book related accessories. They also hold events.nnService and Price: The store is run by the owner, who greeted me as I walked in. Because it is a new bookstore, prices are what they retail for, which is to be expected from new books.nnInterior: The store is tastefully decorated, and the large windows allow lots of light in, which makes the space feel very bright and comfortable. Everything is clean and well organized. Books are arranged well, separated by subject with some displayed prominently, but all are easily visible. There is a good portion of the store that is a little enclave dedicated to kids and young adult books, and there are a few shelves of used books as well. Everything is well marked and intuitive. There are a few comfy chairs for you to take a load off and turn a few pages as well.nnSelection: Because the store is smaller, the selection is limited. But the titles they do stock are relevant and popular. There is a good balance between fiction and non-fiction, and the non-fiction titles cover (at least to me) relevant and prevalent topics. I will say that the store had a good number of titles I was interested in that I had not seen before, so even though it was not a massive selection like retail bookstores offer, there were unique offerings. There are also book related items, including stickers, book holders, bookmarks, and other items that they offer as well.nnLocation and Parking: Overbooked is in historic downtown Fargo, on the north side of N 2nd street. There is no parking lot, so you'll have to find your own parking; but the store is easy to find and wheelchair accessible.nnOverall: Overbooked is a really nice indie bookstore that offers new titles! If you are into supporting locally owned independent businesses instead of throwing your money into a corporate pit, this Overbooked is a great option. Support local businesses!

Super cozy atmosphere and very friendly people! Great prices and the books are all in great condition.
