Henniker Book Farm and Gifts

What a magical experience! On a very cold Saturday morning I made a quick decision to turn at the sign for books and was led to this beautiful experience of a store. Dog, woodstove, good music playing in the background, a wonderfully friendly bookseller, and miles of books in every subject extremely well organized. There are books here you forgot you needed because you can never find them anywhere. What an absolute gem of a place. Make sure you go. I wish I lived closer because I would be there daily.

On a recent trip with the family we happened to stop here to take a look. Huge surprise and wildly exceeded expectations as we browsed this hidden gem.nThe owner was behind the counter and certainly knew her stuff regarding books and her stock. There must have been 30000 volumes in the seemingly never ending nooks and notches that made up this bookstore.nShe also was a dog lover allowing my niece to bring her large pet into the store.nIn the end everyone got a book or two to take to the lake but beyond summer reading you can find extensive sections on most subjects One I found interesting was a book detailing the events surrounding the 1950's explosion at the Concord, Ca naval weapons station.nIf you are driving through beautiful rural New Hampshire, be sure to stop in.

I love visiting this shop. I always find a couple of beauties on the “new arrivals” shelf just inside before I’ve even started in earnest. The broad selection is beautifully organized and well-lit, with a whole section by publisher (like Modern Library). They have authors on their shelves I’ve heard of but never seen anywhere else (P.F. Kluge!). Truly a great source of sometimes hard-to-find books at very fair prices.

An adorable, cozy bookstore filled with shelves upon shelves of books from every genre! The whole place smells like fresh cut wood and old books! It’s awesome!

Books books and more books!! Such a delight to wander and look at everything. And the worker was super nice and very helpful!! Thank you for a great place!!
