Curious Book Shop

Although I haven't personally visited this store, I appreciate the culture of openness they have within their employees.nnMy son arrived back in town off the the Michigan Flyer with a dead phone and no way to contact me/me to him. After asking several other establishments for assistance and receiving their denials, he stopped at the bookshop he's enjoyed visiting before. He found someone kind enough to listen to his plight and charge his phone enough to make a call. He decided while he was there he'd purchase the book he had bypassed previously. He was very appreciative of this act of kindness.nnThank you and I'm planning my first trip in.

It was my first time in the bookstore today and I absolutely love it and am so glad I stopped in – you should too! Ray was so kind and I found a great selection of books I usually can’t find anywhere else in GREAT condition for GREAT prices! Will definitely be back again!

Over the moon about this place. Found my dream book here today, and I wish I had had time to check out the top floor. 🥲nnThe service I received from the employee there today was wonderful. Extremely friendly, and patient with me lol.nnYou WILL find something you want buy here. Great pulp selection, vintage magazines, old cookbooks, craft, art books, technical books, birding, etc. Decent organization, some subjects needs a little digging as things seem to get misplaced by other customers. You end up discovering more books that way though. They even have unsorted banker boxes of books on the floor, also worth looking through!!nnUnfortunately the only drawback is that they are not wheelchair handicap accessible. They have three floors and are *cramped* with books. I imagine that the employees there will help you for something specific, but it just doesn’t make for good browsing.nnThey also seem to have a sister store, called the Archives?

Wow. My only regret visiting this book store is that it's not in my home town. Truly appreciated not only the interesting and vast selection, but the wonderfuly knowledgable bookseller. A real treasure.

This is my favorite store in East Lansing. the vibes are immaculate and the selection is wonderful. 3 levels of every genre, and plenty of rare and uncommon books! Highly recommend!!!!
