I make a point of visiting this wonderful bookstore every time I’m in Andover. Support your local bookstore! Lovely staff. Lovely initiatives and of course à great selection of books for all ages.

The staff is warm, welcoming, and so knowledgeable! This is the place to go for both quiet contemplation as you browse their shelves and enthusiastic conversations that will have you leaving with your new favorite book based on their thoughtful recommendations.

I adore the Andover Bookstore! My first visit was attending their Valentine's Day event last year and it was a great way to meet the staff. Some amazing people help maintain this bookstore and while I've only visited their current location, I find it to be the perfect size for browsing.

I was really looking forward to visiting the Andover Bookstore and decided to take a road trip with my daughter from Western Mass. Unfortunately, the experience didn’t quite live up to my expectations.nWhen we arrived, the store was quiet, but we weren’t greeted or acknowledged, which felt a bit off. As we browsed, we weren’t asked if we needed help, and the overall selection was quite limited. The bookstore itself is much smaller than I anticipated.nAt checkout, the interaction was minimal. I was asked if I was a book club member, and when I said no, there was no follow-up or offer to join or learn more. I still purchased two books because I believe in supporting small, independent bookstores but sadly, I left feeling underwhelmed.nI’m glad I visited once, but I likely won’t make the trip again anytime soon.

I saw a sign that said ‘Jesus loves everyone you hate,’ along with several politically progressive books and messages throughout the store. To me, it felt less like a welcoming environment for all perspectives and more like a business promoting one specific worldview. I respect that businesses can express their values, but I also choose to support places where people with differing beliefs feel equally comfortable and accepted. To the owner- there’s no need for a response here. The proof is in the message you’re so obviously making known. Don’t act like you’re spreading love and acceptance because you’re not. “loves everyone you HATE” so your ideal customer should not be a Christian or Catholic etc. because those people have HATE for others?!? Your bookstore is spreading hate. Wake up.
